Last week, we started with Hazard Identification. Because safety starts before the work begins.

This week builds on that foundation.

E & I = Equipment, PPE, and Incident Reporting

Having the right plan matters. But ex*****on depends on having the right tools and the right information.

👷 Equipment and PPE
The job cannot be done safely without the right equipment and proper protection.

That means:
✅ Using the correct PPE for the task
✅ Inspecting equipment before it is used
✅ Making sure gear is maintained and job-ready
✅ Training teams to use equipment the right way

Even small issues with equipment can create bigger risks in the field.

📑 Incident Reporting and Investigation
A strong safety culture does not ignore problems. It learns from them.

That means
➡️ Making it easy to report issues or near misses
➡️ Investigating every incident, not just the major ones
➡️ Identifying root causes, not just surface problems
➡️ Sharing lessons learned to prevent repeat issues

When teams speak up and information is shared, risk goes down across the entire operation.

Safety is not just about preventing incidents. It is about improving how work gets done every day.

Next week: General Safety Training and Health and Wellness.

🏆 Please join us in celebrating Cristian Rodriguez, Superintendent of Central Service Region, along with Josue Rivera, Cooling Tower Technician 3, and Josue Garcia, Service Foreman, for their outstanding performance and dedication.

The crew recently completed cooling tower cleanings at two customer facilities, delivering the kind of professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail that defines the OBR standard.

Their strong teamwork, communication, and commitment to quality did not go unnoticed. The customer shared the following feedback after the project was completed:

“I wanted to take a moment to share how impressed I was with OBR’s services at both of my plants. The team was consistently on time, polite, and professional, and the quality of their work was exceptional. They not only cleaned up after themselves each day, but also took the initiative to clean the entire work area — and that effort did not go unnoticed.

I look forward to working with them again in the future.”

At OBR Cooling Towers, we are proud to recognize team members who demonstrate leadership, accountability, and a commitment to serving our customers the right way.

Thank you, Cristian, Josue Rivera, and Josue Garcia, for representing OBR with excellence.

Quick question for facility and maintenance teams:

If your cooling tower gearbox failed today, do you know:
➡️ Whether a replacement is already available on-site
➡️ How long it would take to source one
➡️ If the replacement would match your tower specifications

Many organizations assume they are prepared until they actually check.

We recently shared a guide covering the cooling tower spare parts facilities should keep on hand to reduce downtime risk.

Read the article:
Cooling Tower Spare Parts You Should Always Have on Hand

If you'd like to evaluate your own spare parts readiness, we also created a simple Cooling Tower Spare Parts Audit Checklist.

It takes just a few minutes to complete and helps identify inventory gaps.

As June kicks off National Safety Month, we are taking a closer look at what safety really means in the field.

At OBR, safety is not a checklist. It is a system, a mindset, and a responsibility we carry into every project. That is why we follow our HEIGHTS program, built around one goal: making sure everyone involved gets home safe.

Over the next several weeks, we will break down what HEIGHTS means and how it applies to real work in the field.

We are starting with the foundation.

H = Hazard Identification

Before any work begins, the most important step is understanding what could go wrong.

Most incidents do not come out of nowhere. They happen when risks are missed, assumptions are made, or conditions change without being recognized.

That is why hazard identification happens before tools are picked up, before systems are opened, and before crews get to work.

It looks like:
✅ Reviewing the job scope and environment
✅ Identifying potential risks and exposure points
✅ Using checklists and inspections to catch issues early
✅ Speaking up when something does not look right

Strong pre-job planning is what prevents downtime, injuries, and costly disruptions later.

Most incidents are preventable when hazards are identified early.

Next week, we will cover the next part of HEIGHTS: Equipment and PPE, and Incident Reporting.

If you are responsible for keeping people safe and systems running, this is where it starts.

From coast to coast, OBR Cooling Towers continues to grow.

Our expanding network of locations allows us to respond faster, support more facilities, and deliver the reliable cooling tower solutions our customers depend on.

This latest addition of AMC Services strengthens our nationwide presence and reinforces our commitment to providing responsive service, technical expertise, and long-term support for critical infrastructure across the country.

More reach. More resources. Same commitment to performance, safety, and service.

05/25/2026

Today, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom comes at a cost, and that sacrifice deserves more than a moment of recognition. It deserves our respect every day.

At OBR Cooling Towers, we are grateful for those who served and for the families who carry that legacy forward.

As we head into the summer season, we also recognize the importance of protecting the people on our own teams. Safety is not just a priority. It is a responsibility we carry on every job, every day.

We remember. We honor. We remain committed to doing things the right way.

If your cooling tower fails in peak season, the cost is not just the repair.

❌ It is lost production.
❌ It is emergency scheduling.
❌ It is risk to your operation when you have the least flexibility.

Most teams do not plan for failure.
But they also do not always plan early enough to prevent it.

👉 Spring maintenance is where that changes.

With the right inspection and service plan, you can:
🔹 Understand current system condition
🔹 Address high-risk issues before peak load
🔹 Schedule work around operations, not during downtime
🔹 Maintain reliable performance when demand is highest

This is not about doing more maintenance.

It is about doing it at the right time.

If you have not scheduled your spring inspection yet, now is the window to act.

Schedule your inspection: https://hubs.li/Q04cKXtW0
Talk to our service team about preventive maintenance: https://hubs.li/Q04cKVVL0

👍 Go into summer with a plan, not a problem.

Energy costs are not just about utility rates.

They are also about equipment performance.

Older or worn motors in cooling towers often run less efficiently, which means your system works harder to deliver the same cooling output.

Over time, that leads to:
❗ Higher operating costs
❗ Reduced equipment life
❗ Increased risk of unplanned downtime

For many facilities, the opportunity is not just replacing a motor. It is upgrading it as part of a broader system evaluation.

At OBR Cooling Towers, we help facility teams:
✔️ Inspect and assess current system performance
✔️ Identify inefficiencies in mechanical components
✔️ Provide replacement parts and upgrade solutions that support long-term reliability

The first step is understanding where your system stands today.

See what a detailed cooling tower inspection includes:

If energy usage or maintenance frequency is trending in the wrong direction, it may be time to take a closer look.
