Your cooling tower fill only works when air and water can move through it effectively.
Fill creates the surface area needed for air and water contact inside the cooling tower. When that fill becomes fouled, blocked, deteriorated, or damaged, heat transfer can suffer.
Scale, debris, and biological growth can restrict passages through the fill. Physical deterioration can also change how water and air move through sections of the tower.
The result can be inconsistent cooling and declining tower performance.
Watch for:
🔎 Visible scale or buildup
🔎 Debris accumulation
🔎 Biological growth
🔎 Crushed, sagging, or deteriorated fill
🔎 Noticeable differences between sections of the tower
Fill condition is more than a maintenance issue. It directly affects the environment where heat transfer takes place.
If fill condition is affecting tower performance, an inspection can help determine the extent of the problem and the right next steps.
