Custom Gear & Rack precision machine shop in North Oxford MA, looking for an experienced CNC machinist to work first shift on these machines:
• Star SR-32 (X2), SB-16, SR-20, VNC-20, RNC-16
The STAR machines are the majority of the machines that will run. Other machines in the department which may bay used as needed would be:
• Citizen L-16, Citizen F-25 and a Tsugami NT-25
Some of the materials that you will be working with:
• Stainless Steels (303, 304, 316, 416,..)
• 1018/1020 Steels
• 12L14/12L15/4140 Steels
• Brass
• Aluminum
• Bearing Bronze and Aluminum Bronze/Ampco 18
• Nitralloy 135 and Inconel
• Plastics: Phenolic/Nylon/Delrin/Micarta C/PVDF
You will be working with diameters ranging from .060"-1.25". Standard tolerances to be held within +/-.001", and occasionally to within tenths.
Sectors that most of our customer base is in are: aeronautical/defense, medical and government industries, industrial machinery to name a few.
I am looking to hire Full time within 1-2 weeks. We work 4-10 hour days.
*Responsibilities*
Machinist will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Under limited supervision follow written processes (Shop Routers) and operate multiple CNC machines. This includes programming/setting up and operating.
* Machine operations and responsibilities:
• Turning, Drilling, Tapping, Milling, Knurling, Boring, Threading, as well as any required cross work and secondary work, as needed
*Job Requirements: *
* 10+ years of experience with CNC Swiss-type Lathes, preferably Star. * Must be able to react to normal machine scheduling as well as emergency requirements. * Vocational trades school, high school diploma or equivalent required. * Must have sufficient education to read complex engineering drawings, perform shop math and keep accurate records.
