With respect to our great local meteorologists, are there better weather prognosticators than farmers? It's like a sixth sense for them. Sight. Smell. Taste. Knowing the exact minute the rain will start or stop. Trying to time that afternoon outdoor project just right? Hard to beat a farmer's forecast.

This time of year (in between rain showers) you'll see our agriculture producers moving equipment in-and-out of the fields and onto rural roads. All those combines, tractors and grain trucks accelerate like a turtle crawling uphill hauling a backpack full of rocks, so keep your eyes on the road near farmland. Be gracious, give the equipment a little room and enjoy the scenic views of our county.
