Today is World Wish Day, a day commemorating the wish that inspired the founding of the Make-A-Wish® Foundation. Since that first wish 42 years ago, over 520,000 wishes have been granted to children with critical illnesses worldwide.
On World Wish Day, we are honored to announce that the US LBM Foundation is making a $50,000 general donation to Make-A-Wish Metro New York to kick off an ongoing partnership. The US LBM Foundation will work with Make-A-Wish in the coming years to fund full wishes for children and will explore other partnership ideas for our associates to be involved in wish-giving initiatives.
“Make-A-Wish gives wish children fighting a critical illness a piece of their childhood back. A wish gives children something amazing to look forward to, renewing their strength to fight their illness. It has a positive impact on a their emotional, and often physical, well-being and overall quality of life,” said L.T. Gibson, president and CEO of US LBM and the US LBM Foundation. “The US LBM Foundation is committed to helping children and families in need and is proud to begin this partnership with Make-A-Wish, an organization so aligned with our values.”
