This week we are highlighting the DC Dream Center. We worked on the DC Dream Center, completed in 2017, with Waldon Studio Architects and the National Community Church. They celebrated their 3 year anniversary in their new building in August of 2020. Check out the video below of how they have had to pivot during COVID, and highlighting all of the amazing work they've completed (and have continued since!)

Congrats to the City of Alexandria, recipient of the 2020 Audrey Nelson Community Development Achievement Award, for their work done with The Bloom/Carpenter's Shelter in Alexandria, VA! Structura provided structural engineering services along side architect Cooper Carry.

The Audrey Nelson Community Development Achievement Award, presented by the National Community Development Association, recognizes exemplary uses of the Community Development Block Grant program and the partnerships between local government and nonprofits to assist low- and moderate-income households.

Hickok Cole leased a nearly 1,500-square-foot space next to the Someday home décor shop it designed.

Construction wrapped up and the development team had it's ribbon cutting ceremony last week at Structura's Hill East Building G!

The two buildings from Donatelli Development and Blue Skye Development total 362 apartments plus retail.

Great write up and tour of the recently renovated Comus Inn in Dickerson, MD that Structura completed with Mangan Group Architects and owner Doug Yurechko.

The Comus Inn, which started life as a single room cabin, has over the years gone through many additions and ultimately a change of use from single family home to event venue and restaurant. The project included removing all the interior finishes which exposed the framing and structural history presenting many unique challenges. Ultimately Structura, the Architect and Ownership were able to seamlessly interweave new framing where needed without disrupting the original character of the spaces and maintaining the new owner’s vision of more open social gathering space.

In addition to the interior renovation Structura also provided design services on the site stacked stone retaining walls and the two wood trellises and covered stage area.

The Comus Inn restaurant features a special, unique menu and a variety of seating in Montgomery County, Maryland.
