THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who helped with the NORRIS LAKE cleanup on Saturday, March 28th. As you can see, we removed a lot of Styrofoam and other large items from the lake. If you would like to volunteer in the future or help with the cost of dumpsters, which is our largest expense, visit https://www.norrislakeproject.com/.

We would also like to especially thank Tennessee Valley Authority, Hickory Star Resort & Marina, Stardust Marina, Big Ridge State Park and Union County Boat Dock for helping with boats, supplies and volunteers.

This spring, the Norris Lake Project is keeping the momentum going with its Adopt-a-Dumpster Fundraiser...because every great lake cleanup needs a place to put the trash! As cleanup efforts continue to grow, so do the costs of dumpster rentals and disposal fees.

Let’s be honest, dumpsters aren’t glamorous. But they’re heroes in disguise. Every single full dumpster means thousands of pounds of trash removed from Norris Lake, leaving cleaner shorelines, safer wildlife habitats, and clearer water for everyone to enjoy. That’s something worth celebrating!

When you adopt a dumpster, you’re not just making a donation, you’re fueling a cleanup, protecting the lake, and becoming part of the solution. It’s a simple way to make a big, visible difference.

Ready to roll up your sleeves (without actually lifting the trash)? Make your tax-deductible donation today at norrislakeproject.com. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Norris Lake Project ensures your support goes directly toward keeping Norris Lake clean, beautiful, and thriving for generations to come.

🎶Baby it's cold outside🎶 but our elves have been out working hard to remove styrofoam and tires from Norris Lake. Volunteers have been collecting the debris for the last few months and this morning we loaded it up to be hauled away. The Norris Lake Project Volunteers were out on the Lake again this week, cleaning up a cove where Norris Dam State Park meets Sequoyah Marina. We partnered with Norris Dam State Park, Sequoyah Marina, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and Tennessee Valley Authority and we were able to remove enough Styrofoam to fill a 30-yard dumpster.
Visit https://www.norrislakeproject.com/ to find out how you can volunteer or help us cover the cost of dumpsters through our Adobt-A-Dumpster Program.

🌊 Since 2009, the Norris Lake Project has hosted two cleanups a year—and it’s all thanks to our amazing volunteers and partners! 💪💚

Huge shoutout to Stardust Marina, BlueSpringsMarina, Team Trail End, Tennessee Valley Authority and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency for providing the boats, bags, gloves, and more to make this past cleanup a success! 🙌

Together, we’re keeping Norris Lake beautiful.

Mother Nature had other plans for us this weekend so we didn't get to cleanup at Blue Mud like we planned but a group of our volunteers did work at Blue Springs and in Sharp's Chapel near the Tanglewood subdivision. They mainly removed Styrofoam, which is a big issue on the lake. It litters our lake banks and creates a boating hazzard when it floats in the lake. It gets waterlogged and is almost impossible to remove. THANK YOU to our hardworking volunteers!!! And to Valley Authority and for their support and resources.

We have another cleanup scheduled for November 7th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Norris Dam State Park. Find out more at https://www.norrislakeproject.com/upcoming-cleanups/

FYI, notice the dumpster in the last picture. A portion of the cost of that dumpster was paid for through donatoins. Find out how to adopt-a-dumpster at https://www.norrislakeproject.com/adopt-a-dumpster/.
