We’re proud to be recognized as a 2026 Top Workplaces for Engineering award winner!

JSE was recognized for employee well-being, professional development, and appreciation. We’re especially proud of the ways we support our engineers’ growth, including senior mentorship, education financial assistance, paid time off for engineering exams, and our in-house learning platform, JSE University.

We also remain committed to offering teleworking options, competitive benefits, and a culture that supports work-life balance.

Our employees are our greatest asset, and we’re grateful to see that reflected in their feedback.

Araceli DTC Colorado demonstrates how thoughtful coordination can unlock ambitious outcomes, translating complex technical requirements into a high-performing residential asset that enhances both the resident experience and long-term building performance.

Existing utility elevations, limited overhead space, and required vehicle circulation clearances within the parking structure created complex site constraints. These conditions required close coordination across MEP, civil, and structural disciplines to develop solutions that were both technically sound and aligned with the architectural vision.

Our team provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Low Voltage design for the modern 13-story high-rise multifamily community in the Denver Tech Center.

New Hope Housing Berry was envisioned to address a growing need for affordable housing in Houston’s Greater Northside neighborhood, creating a pathway for stability, opportunity, and long-term growth for residents. The project aims to empower individuals and families by connecting them with the resources to succeed.

Our team supported this vision by providing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Sustainability design services for the 180-unit community, completed in 2025. By integrating high-performance, energy-efficient systems throughout the development, the project not only enhances resident comfort but also reduces long-term operational costs, contributing to its ENERGY STAR certification. Recognized with the 2026 CoStar Impact Award for Multifamily Development of the Year in Houston, the community offers a range of thoughtfully designed amenities, including an outdoor courtyard, pet-friendly bark park, dining areas, a playground and splash pad, and a business and fitness center.

The development incorporates meaningful support programs that reinforce its mission. An on-site, tuition-free Bezos Academy Preschool and the LIFT (Lives in Forward Transition) program provide resources for single parents balancing work and education. Through LIFT, residents can access up to four years of childcare, housing assistance, and family coaching.

Together, these elements create more than housing. They establish a connected, supportive community designed to help residents build stability and expand opportunity.

Starting a sustainable project requires careful timing and the right certification strategy, especially as key deadlines approach. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) will close registrations for LEED v4 and v4.1 on June 30, 2026, signaling a transition to newer standards.

Key considerations:
âś… Registering early allows you to move forward under established requirements before changes take effect
âś… LEED v4/v4.1 may offer a more cost-controlled path
âś… Projects already registered will have until June 30, 2032 to complete certification

Implementing ERRC systems is crucial for emergency communication, but not many may know what goes into implementing such a crucial system.

Brian Taylor provides an inside look at how JSE approaches ERRC with flexibility, offering three levels of service tailored to project risk, size, and certainty. Specifically, Brian details the first level of service—code research, which provides clients with clarity on the requirements and parameters of implementing an ERRC system in a given jurisdiction.

▶️ This level of ERRC service only scratches the surface. For a more detailed breakdown of all the levels, watch our ERRC episode out now on YouTube: https://youtu.be/p2K-DSgf4-8?si=enMRtLRew9NJ_UYD.
