Today's episode: Things That Go BEEEEEEEEEEEEP In The Night

What is that terrifying sound? A loud, shrill BEEEEEEEEEP pierces the darkness—made somehow even more ominous by the stillness of the sleeping house. 🌙

You gather your courage. You venture out of bed, searching the room. And there it is.... Your oxygen concentrator. 😱

Okay, maybe not quite as terrifying as discovering an actual ghost standing in your bedroom doorway. But when you're suddenly awakened by an unfamiliar alarm from equipment you depend on, it can be pretty frightening.

Fortunately, you don't have to face this particular horror alone. 👻 Baywind Medical provides a 24-hour emergency line exclusively for our oxygen patients. If your concentrator starts alarming in the middle of the night, give us a call. We can help troubleshoot the situation and, when appropriate, help you safely get through the night until we can take a closer look in the light of day.

⚠️ IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE — BAYWIND MEDICAL WILL BE CLOSED FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 ⚠️

Due to concerns about the incoming weather and the safety of our staff, Baywind Medical will be CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, October 9.

Our emergency line will remain available to our patients by calling 850-729-2559 and following the prompts. Please understand that during severe weather, phone service may be disrupted, and our technicians may not be able to safely travel to your location. We will do everything we can to assist our patients, but conditions may limit our ability to respond.

If you are in an evacuation zone, please take evacuation orders seriously and make plans to move to a safer location. If you or someone in your household has special medical needs, special needs shelters are available. More information can be found here: https://www.floridahealth.gov/community-environmental-public-health/emergency-preparedness-response/special-needs-shelters/

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.
