We're sorry to see the track close

Effective immediately: Atco Dragway is permanently closed. We will not be open from this point on. The remainder of our schedule for 2023 will be canceled.

Thank you all for your patronage and memories over the years.

Special thank you to our 29th annual Pan American Nationals racers & crowd for making Atco Dragway’s last event the biggest and best one ever. This isn’t the end for import racing in the northeast!

To all of our staff, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sticking it out with us and being the best in the business!

Don's family would like to announce that arrangements have been made for Don's funeral

A mass will be held at 11:30 on Saturday October 24th at St. Mary's church, 626 Willard ave Newington Ct.

Military honors will follow.

Attendees are invited to a celebration of Don's life will from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Hawthorne inn at 2421 Berlin turnpike in Berlin.

There is plenty of parking in the lot. Attendees are encouraged to bring their classic cars.

Please wear masks and be mindful of your distance.

We are sad to share that Don Gallant “Connecticut’s Pioneer Dragger” passed away yesterday, 4/26/20.

Don opened the original Don’s Speed Shop in 1953 in Wethersfield, CT moving to its current location on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, CT in 1958.

Don was an original founder of the CT Street Rod Association.

Memorial services will be announced once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

Rest in peace Don.
