"We're too small to need security."
It's one of the most common misconceptions we hear from house of worship leaders and security teams.
The reality is that security planning isn't determined by the size of your congregation. It's influenced by how your facility is used, who accesses it throughout the week, and the responsibility of protecting people, property, and ministry operations.
Many houses of worship host community events, children's programs, counseling sessions, volunteer activities, and worship services throughout the week. Each creates unique considerations for safety and security.
Every organization's needs are different, but one thing remains true: security is most effective when it's proactive rather than reactive.
What's your perspective?
