Concrete naturally shrinks as it gains strength. That's why proper curing and crack-control measures are critical from the moment the slab is placed.

Today this may look like a cosmetic defect. Tomorrow it could become a pathway for water intrusion, freeze-thaw damage, and accelerated deterioration.

A fresh finish can hide problems temporarily.
