How Drones Plant 100,000 Trees A Day (Reforestation Tech)

Every year, millions of acres of forest are lost to wildfires and industrial deforestation. While tree planting sounds like an obvious fix, traditional hand-planting is simply too slow, and as NASA satellite data recently proved, planting the wrong trees in the wrong soil can actually fail to capture carbon long-term.

That’s where drone reforestation comes in.

Armed with 3D LiDAR scanning, these autonomous drone squadrons map deforested terrains in minutes to identify optimal soil moisture and topography. Then, high-speed seed cannons fire bio-engineered seed pods directly into the ground at speeds up to 120 seeds per minute. Each pod is packed with nutrients, moisture-retaining hydrogel, and natural pest repellents, giving the seeds a massive survival advantage over traditional methods.

Hometown Moon is an architectural work and ceremonial center located in the Jiunv Crest Valley in Tai'an City, Shandong Province, China.

Designed by SYN Architects and completed in 2021, the structure has gone viral internationally for its poetic visual concept and its integration with the natural surroundings.

Lead architect Zou Yingxi drew inspiration from classical poems of the Song Dynasty to create a ceremonial structure where the moon remains eternally visible among the mountains.

The building is a semicircular chapel or ceremonial hall made of concrete and glass. Its exterior roof features a shallow reflective water pond; by reflecting the semicircle, it creates the perfect illusion of a luminous full moon 12 meters in diameter floating on the water.

It serves primarily as a ceremonial hall and a venue for cultural events or weddings, symbolizing lasting union.

The museum designed by Daniel Libeskind in Dresden is the Military History Museum of the German Armed Forces (Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr).

It is Germany’s largest military museum, having reopened in 2011 following a spectacular expansion.

Libeskind’s design breaks up the symmetry of the original 19th-century arsenal with an imposing five-story wedge of steel, concrete, and glass that cuts through the building.

This deconstructivist wedge breaks with the opacity of the structure’s authoritarian past and points directly toward the direction from which the bombs fell during World War II.

At its highest point is an observation deck 30 meters above ground that offers panoramic views of the city.
