Last Sunday, NJIT's 3D Printed Bridge Competition was held. This annual event has been re-named in honor of MRCE's late Principal, David Good, who, according to William H Pennock III, NJIT Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was the “vision and determination” behind the competition that cultivated innovation and creative thinking within the field of engineering. The competition has also expanded to be a regional event open to both college and high school student teams. MRCE Senior Associate Renzo Verastegui was a judge at the event.

Following the recent passing of David Good, one of MRCE's Principals, his fellow Principals have established a Scholarship with the Foundation at New Jersey Institute of Technology to honor his life and legacy. Dave demonstrated his love for education and helping others by participating on the NJIT Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering Industry Advisory Board since 2012. Dave was instrumental in creating the NJIT course “Resilient Systems Planning and Design,” and the 3D Printed Bridge competition. The photo here shows Dave participating as a judge at the first competition held in November 2021.

With the support of Dave’s family, MRCE invites his colleagues and friends to contribute to the David R. Good, PE ’78, ’92 Memorial Scholarship to honor his professional life and our relationship with him. The Foundation at New Jersey Institute of Technology is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
