🚨 BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION IN CYLINDER HEAD PORTING? BIGGER IS BETTER! 🔥

Dave's working on this Honda B16 cylinder head while breaking down one of the most common misunderstandings when it comes to porting.

Most of the time, we're not trying to make the port BIGGER. We're trying to make it more EFFICIENT! 💨

It's about improving airflow through proper shaping, sizing, and transitions — not just grinding away material to increase port volume.

More volume doesn't automatically mean more airflow, and more airflow doesn't always mean more horsepower! 👊

Whether it's a Honda B16 or any other cylinder head, knowing where to remove material — and where NOT to — is where experience comes in.

We don't choose parts because they're our favorite. We choose them because they're RIGHT for the application. 🔧🔥

Dave's talking valve spring kits and why the right specifications matter more than the brand name or price tag.

At HeadGames, we recommend spring kits every single day. And there's a reason behind every recommendation.

We use a LOT of GSC Power Division products because they're often the right fit for the application. But when they're not? We'll use another manufacturer's spring kit that is.

We're not choosing parts based on who gives us the biggest discount or what's sitting on the shelf.

We're choosing them based on what YOUR engine actually needs. 💪

Because at the end of the day, it's not about selling you a particular brand. It's about building a cylinder head that works. 👊

Just because you can install the parts doesn't mean you should! 🔧👀

Dave's preaching a little cylinder head knowledge today — and this time, we're talking valve spring kits!

Installing springs isn't just about putting parts together. You need the proper equipment to measure everything, including installed height and distance to coil bind, to make sure the combination is correct.

Get it wrong, and that DIY accomplishment could turn into one expensive lesson. 😬

As Dave puts it, your accomplishment shouldn't be assembling the cylinder head yourself — it should be installing a professionally built cylinder head on your engine! 💪

Some people have a way with words… Greg has a way with valve locks. 😂🔧

Greg's assembling a BMW M54 cylinder head after receiving our OEM Rebuild service, and let's just say he's got installing those tiny valve locks down to a science! 👌

16? Nope. 24 valves, 48 locks, and a whole lot of patience! 😎

It's the little details that make a big difference when assembling a cylinder head.

Anyone who's installed valve locks knows they're not always this cooperative! 😂👇

But here's the better question… Do you want it PERFECT?

ABSOLUTELY. 💯🔥

Just because a cylinder head is brand new doesn't automatically mean the deck surface is exactly where we want it.
