CNC BENDING / BREAK FORMING
In keeping with the directive of providing unsurpassed quality and state of the art capability, Ferra Designs has acquired the latest in press brake technology. The 191 ton Trumpf TruBend 5170 press brake provides the highest standard of accuracy and repeatability in the industry. With bends up to 14' long, and a 7-axis CNC controlled back gauge, Ferra Designs stands at the absolute forefront of what is possible in high tolerance complex metal forming. CNC MACHINING
To work out an economical plan for part machining we use Solidcam software which operates within the Solidworks platform. Difficult machining operations by conventional methods are facilitated without software translation problems or operator error. Proving the machining operations in the computer before material is touched means precious materials are not wasted and time is saved. FABRICATION / WELDING
With certifications in Stick, MIG and TIG welding and extensive training in high tolerance fabrication, our staff is equipped to successfully take on projects with any degree of specification or scrutiny. Utilizing this technology provides craftsman and client alike, the ability to visualize completed assemblies, details and sections with infinite viewing angles using interactive 3-D models. We offer full installation and rigging services with experience in sensitive work environments such as finished penthouse apartments and limited access jobsites. Rigging equipment, personnel, permits and insurance are provided as needed. Safety, efficiency and professionalism are our criteria when we are on site with you and other trades. WATERJET TECHNOLOGY / SERVICES
Waterjet cutting is one of the most versatile and limitless technologies offered today. Cutting complex shapes through any material type, thickness or hardness is not a problem for a waterjet cutting machine. At Ferra Designs we offer the state of the art in waterjet technology. The Flow Dynamic Head Waterjet virtually eliminates cut part geometry errors and brings part cutting into the true precision realm. More accurate parts at faster cutting speeds means cost savings for our customers. Conventional waterjets cannot make that claim. We offer services for cutting stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, titanium, composites, plastics, wood, glass, stone in thicknesses in excess of 6". Parts up to 6 feet by 12 feet. Parts and components can be cut direct from your CAD files or can be designed, developed and engineered for you. BLACKSMITHING
Situated on the historic Cartwright Farm in Denver NY, The Ferra facility is outfitted to the centuries old tradition of blacksmithing. Using the core elements of a coal-fired forge, hammer and anvil our skilled journeymen transform raw materials into objects that radiate timeless beauty inherent within the fluid attributes of hand-wrought forms.
