Martin’s Hardware would like to thank all of those who assisted in making our 50th celebration successful! Thanks to the New Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce, Raymond Gouker from Community Media of South Central Pennsylvania, our suppliers that donated great door prizes, the Gettysburg Times, our wonderful employees, their wives, family, friends, and customers that made a special trip to our store for the day. It meant so much to us. We had great comments about our hourly fife and drum players, Lexi and Aidan Jesmer. It was fun to give away lots of prizes, cake, and refreshments. You all withstood the heat and made our celebration a day to remember.

After nearly a two-year interruption in offering programs and events because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the New Oxford Area Historical Society (NOAHS) is resuming its local history programs and activities in 2022 for members and the greater New Oxford community.

Materials about NOAHS' 2022 Season and for becoming a member of NOAHS can be obtained using the link below.

To kickstart the new 2022 Season, NOAHS is announcing "Resume in 22," the organization’s efforts to restart, rebuild and once again, move forward with curated programs that celebrate the history and heritage of the New Oxford community and its neighboring area.

To rebuild our membership, the Directors have approved a specially reduced annual membership fee structure for all membership levels in 2022. Individuals and families may join for $10.00, and organizations and businesses for $50.00.

NOAHS' first event will be the annual meeting on Thursday, March 31, 2022, when elections will be held, the 2022 program calendar will be presented and a surprise presentation featuring 200+ year old artifacts will be presented. Members will be able to participate either in person or by digital means.

NOAHS asks parties to submit their paid membership applications either electronically or by mail by Feb. 28, 2022 so the organization can finalize and distribute the materials people will need for the March meeting.

Thanks to Michaela, our Director of Membership and Marketing for the New Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce, another Harvest Hunt is underway. It begins this Saturday, October 8th and runs through Sunday, October 24. There are some fun October activities scheduled. One of them includes a scavenger hunt in our local businesses for those who want to participate.

Therefore, come one, come all to Martin’s New Oxford Hardware and find the leaf hidden in our store. Record the number of our leaf in the Harvest Hunt booklet. This will be counted as one entry toward a prize drawn by the New Oxford Chamber. Visit the other businesses shown in the picture (must visit at least 8)and record their unique numbers to have more prize entries. Rules are stated in the booklets.

Whether you look for the leaf or shop our store, enjoy a piece of trick-or-treat candy on us.
