Congratulations to the entire Fraser Hall project team on being recognized by the Minnesota Real Estate Journal!

Horwitz was proud to be part of transforming Fraser Hall into a modern undergraduate chemistry teaching facility designed to support hands-on learning, innovation, and collaboration for years to come.

Our team provided design-assist mechanical and plumbing services, BIM coordination, and clash detection leadership across all trades. The project included specialized ventilation and fume hood systems for 18 chemistry labs, complex piping systems, infrastructure modernization, and extensive prefabrication efforts that helped improve coordination and keep the project moving efficiently.

One of the most rewarding parts of this project was the collaboration. Over four years, the project team worked together to develop value management solutions that reduced overall project costs by more than $2.2 million while maintaining the quality and functionality the facility required.

We’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful to work alongside outstanding project partners on such an impactful project.

Project Partners: Mortenson, VJAA, BWBR, Dunham Associates

As Construction Safety Week begins, we’re recognizing the team that brings our most important core value to life every day — safety.

Across every jobsite, our safety professionals are part of the work — side-by-side with our crews. They’re walking jobs, asking questions, offering perspective, and helping turn good plans into safe ex*****on. Day in and day out, they anticipate challenges, support real-time problem-solving, and help ensure safety stays front and center in everything we do.

This week and every week, their work sets the standard for how we show up, look out for one another, and get the job done right.

We wrapped up an incredible Women in Construction Week at Horwitz filled with opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate the women making an impact across our industry.

The Horwitz Network of Women (NOW) group organized a week full of events including a workshop with Bree Bacon, Author of Your Elite Energy, a wine tasting, and a Local 10 Sheet Metal tour that gave participants a closer look at the craftsmanship behind the trades.

To close out the week, NOW toured the Horwitz fabrication shop to see how our teams bring complex systems to life through fabrication—and even got the chance to try welding themselves (and many of them crushed it!).

It was a great week celebrating the incredible women who continue to shape and strengthen the construction industry.
