Northeast Pumps (NEP) recently completed the modernization of a Massachusetts municipal stormwater pump station.

The Challenge
- Two of 3 stormwater pumps not fully operational
- 1970s vintage pumps were no longer made
- Lack of documentation for pump sizing
- Piping and valves in poor condition

The Solution
- Demo & removal of obsolete vintage 1970’s equipment.
- Sourcing of new equipment that meets and exceeds today’s compliance and performance standards.
- Installation of new piping, valves, pump and motor.

The municipality took advantage of the pre-negotiated rates that NEP has in place with the state of MA.

Northeast Pumps Recently Attended Wolong Electric America’s Factory Expansion Grand Opening.

We are the regional distribution partner for GE Industrial Motors, that has been owned by Wolong Electric America since 2018.

We were extremely impressed by Wolong's new 120,000sf facility that is dedicated to state-of-the-art, high efficiency pump motors. They have an expanded product line of motors up to 7000hp and boast a line that exceeds US and EU standards.

Northeast Pumps completed a vertical turbine pump upgrade for Gloucester MA using new Franklin Electric bowl and column assemblies.

High quality build throughout with NSF-61 potable water materials, stainless steel hardware, and epoxy coatings on the inside and outside of the bowls and columns.

Very thankful to have Gloucester and Veolia as a valued customer.

Northeast Pumps recently completed a major overhaul of a 1970’s vintage Byron Jackson vertical turbine pump to restore it to today’s performance and functionality standards. The pump delivers critical cooling water from the Hudson River to the New York State Capital complex and SUNY Albany.

This work is part of a multi-year service contract for New York State.

Peak Hurricane Season is Approaching

Now is the time for municipalities along the shoreline to evaluate the condition of their stormwater pumps. Keeping this equipment in proper working order is essential to protecting residents, critical assets, and infrastructure.

Proper inspection and maintenance of stormwater pumps will ensure municipalities remain in good standing with FEMA. If equipment is found to be not functioning properly during FEMA inspections, it can result in a downgrade of the community’s flood protection rating.
