Today our company is in ten different states with more than 130 locations. The expertise that was acquired in the beginning stages of Croell, Inc. has never been forgotten. Even though our company has expanded into several other companies to suit our various customers’ needs, our commitment to serving our customers is still our highest priority.

Every other Sunday, Croell, Inc.'s "Meet the Manager" series recognizes individuals who keep operations running smoothly and foster a culture of teamwork and growth. Check out this week’s featured manager below!

Role at Croell: Regional Aggregate Manager
Division/Location: Eastern Aggregate Region (Iowa/Wisconsin)

🏢Professional Background:
I followed in my Father's footsteps entering into the ready mix concrete and aggregate industry right out of high school. I started on a portable dredge and wash plant to begin with before switching gears to the ready mix side of the industry. I learned all positions associated with a ready mix plant, operating loaders, ready mix trucks, batch man/ dispatch before climbing the ladder to plant manager. Eventually I wore a couple different hats, taking over regional aggregate manager and ready mix operations.
In 2023, I made the choice to explore other opportunities and had admired the monstrous ready mix plant being built at Hwy 30 and 380 as well as the fleet of newer model mixers in Cedar Rapids, owned by Croell, Inc.
I put a call in to Croell headquarters and visited with Kurt. He had a need for an aggregate guy and shortly after, I met informally with Kurt, Harry and Jeramy. We hit it off that evening and after spending a day with Jeramy touring some of the aggregate sites, I knew I wanted to be a part of the Croell team.
I have enjoyed my short time at Croell, Inc., getting to know the employees and owners and having the support and trust needed to expand aggregate operations and production.

💪Leadership and Work Style:
I like to treat those around me the way I would want to be treated. Work is what you make it. Have some fun during the day as you go along.

Safety Saturday: Alerting Others to Danger 📢

On every jobsite, hazards can appear in an instant. A piece of equipment moves unexpectedly, a load shifts, a coworker steps into a blind spot — and in those moments, the fastest, most effective safety tool we have is our voice.

Alerting others to danger isn’t just a skill. It’s a responsibility we all share, and it’s one of the simplest ways we protect each other.

When you see something unsafe:
📢 Call it out immediately. Don’t assume someone else sees it. A clear warning can stop an injury before it starts.
📢 Get the person’s attention first. Make eye contact, use their name, or signal with your hand so they know the warning is meant for them.
📢 Use direct, simple language. “Stop.” “Watch your footing.” “Truck backing up.” Short, specific phrases cut through noise and confusion.
📢 Stay calm and steady. A calm tone helps the other person react quickly without panic.
📢 Follow through. Once the hazard is addressed, make sure the area is safe and the team understands what happened so it doesn’t repeat.

At Croell, Inc. we look out for each other — not just because it’s policy, but because it’s who we are. A quick shout, a raised hand, or a simple warning can change the outcome of someone’s day.

We’re officially one month away from the 2026 Croell Mixer Truck Rodeo, and now’s the time to get your name on the list. This event is open to all Croell employees and their families — whether you want to compete, volunteer, or help support the day.

Every contestant will receive a free lunch and a Mixer Rodeo t‑shirt, and volunteers will receive lunch as well. We’ll have a food truck on site, a DJ, inflatable bounce house/water slide for the kids, door prizes throughout the day, and a trophy + cash prize for the winner.
