North American Forgemasters recently hosted Congressman Mike Kelly at our New Castle, Pennsylvania facility to highlight our company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening America’s industrial base and supporting the nation’s defense needs. The visit provided an opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of the skilled workforce that powers our operations each day and to underscore the critical importance of maintaining a robust domestic forging industry.

During the tour, guests observed a forging on our 90MN press, offering a close look at the precision, expertise, and advanced manufacturing processes that define our work. North American Forgemasters remains dedicated to advancing U.S. manufacturing capacity, reinforcing secure supply chains, and supporting the mission of the men and women who protect our nation.

Pennsylvania plays a central role in nuclear energy, with the second-largest fleet in the U.S., a strong industrial base, and deep technical expertise. The question we’re faced with is how to build from that foundation in a durable way that builds on Pennsylvania’s position as a national energy leader.

North American Forgemasters is excited to share the Pennsylvania Nuclear Energy Roadmap, developed by Team Pennsylvania in partnership with 70 individuals from 50 organizations. The roadmap provides a strategic path to align the systems and stakeholders that will guide Pennsylvania’s leadership in nuclear energy.

North American Forgemasters was glad to take part in shaping this roadmap in collaboration with other energy leaders across the commonwealth.

Pennsylvania is at a defining moment. Electricity demand is rising after decades of stability and Artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing are reshaping the economy. At the same time, nuclear energy is returning as a central solution for reliable and carbon-free power.

Together, these forces create a narrow window for states that are ready to act.

That’s why we are excited to share the release of the Pennsylvania Nuclear Energy Roadmap, developed by Team Pennsylvania and a public-private task force of energy leaders. The roadmap outlines a strategic path forward and establishes a framework for coordination that reduces uncertainty and enables investment.

ANOTHER ROUND: Today, the U.S. Department of Energy awarded a combined $94 million to eight companies to support the deployment of advanced light-water small modular reactors (SMRs).

The awardees will receive federal cost-shared funding to spur additional Gen III+ SMR deployments by addressing key gaps that have hindered the domestic nuclear industry in licensing, supply chain, and site preparation.

The selections follow two major awards in November 2025 to advance first-mover projects in Tennessee and Michigan.

This latest round of projects will bolster the supply chain needed to deliver new nuclear generation in the early 2030s, strengthen the development of Gen III+ SMR orderbooks, and advance President Trump’s American Energy Dominance agenda.
