Not all delamination failures happen for the same reason. A cyclic TMA protocol can provide insight into how dielectric materials respond to different thermal stresses.

This cyclic TMA protocol combines three thermal zones into a single test, with each zone evaluating different aspects of material behavior:

🔹 Zone 1: De-stresses the sample and measures Tg, CTE, and delta Tg across repeated cycles
🔹 Zone 2: Simulates assembly/rework thermal excursions, where poor adhesion, trapped volatiles, or outgassing may contribute to delamination
🔹 Zone 3: A T260-style isothermal hold at 260 °C, where chemical degradation is believed to be the dominant failure mode

Materialeigenschaften schwanken, die Verarbeitbarkeit verändert sich von Charge zu Charge, und klassische Prüfmethoden liefern oft nicht mehr die nötige Aussagekraft.
