The ReCONNstruction Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to save the environment by keeping usable building materials out of landfills and in our community. The mission of The ReCONNstruction Center is to promote environmental and social sustainability by salvaging and acquiring building materials and selling them at prices affordable to average wage earners, and to support these

activities specifically in urban areas, recognizing those locations as essential to the long term sustainability of the economy and culture.

Our volunteers were busy Saturday and Sunday.

At the close of business Sunday, Heather and Nicole (with a cameo and much-appreciated support from Nick) are ready for some rest.

We reopen Friday, June 5 at 10:00 AM. We anticipate normal business hours this weekend, but will post and email any changes.

A generous donation of beautiful salvaged dark maple kitchen cabinets arrived from a Connecticut homeowner renovating their kitchen. This donation was made possible through the advocacy and reuse mission support from The Inspired Kitchen, a local kitchen designer.

Believe it or not, this lot is just half of the kitchen. Right off the truck, some of the “new-to-us” cabinets have already gone home with a local homeowner, and they’re going to look fantastic.

Nicole put together a “mock up” picture of the remainder of the available cabinet set.

A few reminders:
• Inventory is first come, first served.
• Items must be paid for and removed at the time of purchase.
• We cannot hold items or accept deposits due to limited space and our volunteer-run operating model.

At this time, we are only considering the sale of this kitchen as a set or major portions of the set. Please, no requests to cherry-pick individual pieces just yet.

This whole cabinet set is $3000 firm; it’s likely that two full kitchens can be completed w/this lot.

Please don’t message about measurements; I answer every message that comes through, to be polite, and nearly 98% of the time, the info is included here. If there are nuanced measurements you need, come in person to measure.

I already got god knows how old water in my hair removing the sink from this set. This set and I have strict boundaries now.

We unfortunately don’t have the space to build full display kitchens at ReCONN.

Reclaimed maple bases and upper kitchenette, $1100

I’ve started building kitchenette “sets” from our current cabinet inventory.

Right now, these are being offered as complete and can’t be split apart. If they don’t move as sets, we may separate them later.

Cabinet A is a blind corner cabinet. The spot marked with the X goes against the wall, and another cabinet connects perpendicular to it to create a clean right angle instead of an exposed corner cabinet.

I included a VERY bad AI mockup so non-builder humans can understand the blind corner concept.

ChatGPT and I are currently fighting because it swapped the cabinet faces around and could NOT be coaxed to change them, but the general concept is there.
