And of course the trains as they go by. I had another post ready to go and wouldn't you know it, the internet/phones went down, so I had to start all over again. Oh well. Good afternoon and Happy Friday! I hope your week was a lot better than mine. I did survive despite the power, phone, internet outages, holiday week and statement time. Normalcy will be back at some point, I'm sure. I hope you have a great weekend and that you get to do something fun and outside. I have a grad open house on Saturday and a ball game on Sunday, so it should be a pretty good weekend for me. Whatever your weekend holds for you, remember to show kindness and share a smile. Update: still no internet or phones. Mediacom is still working on the lines from our outage yesterday. A truck took out some power lines and transformer and the cable/internet lines yesterday. I saw about 4-5 Mediacom trucks out working on getting things taken care of and putting up new lines. You can still call in and leave messages and you can still email as I can get both remotely via my cell phone. I will get back to you as soon as possible, so please be patient.

Hello everyone. Power is out and phones are down. Not sure when they'll be back on. I guess there are some power lines down near us and they are working on them. Will update when we're back up and running.

Good afternoon and Happy Monday, at least I think it's Monday. My days are messed up as I am trying to get caught up from being out last week. I hope you all had a fantastic week and weekend. Not sure what the weather was like here, but in sunny Florida and Kentucky, it was beautiful. Nice and HOT! I've started the process of transitioning from winter clothes to summer clothes, but it will be a slow process as we are going to only be in the 60's later this week. I will still need most of the jeans for that kinda weather and maybe some long sleeve shirts, too. If you call in and I don't answer right away, please leave a message. I promise I will get back to you just as soon as I can as I'm trying to play catch up on everything. I hope you have a fantastic week and that you get to get out and enjoy some of it. Good afternoon and Happy Monday. Friday got away from me, so my apologies for no posts. So glad to see the sun shining, however the wind can go away anytime now. And, so can the cooler weather that's coming in. Just a heads up, there will be no posts on Friday or any next week as I will be out of the office/state. I have some family business to take care of and a college graduation to go to, so I will be traveling for those events. I hope your week will be a wonderful one and your weekend, too. Good morning and Happy Monday. I hope you all had a great weekend and that you were able to get out and enjoy some of it. I just want the rain to stop and for the sun to come out. It looks like it's trying to, it just needs to push through the clouds and say outta my way, it's time to shine! We've been getting a lot of calls regarding the new recycling program that will be starting in July, so here are my answers to some of those questions:

Will our trash still be picked up: YES, we will still be picking up your trash as long as there is trash to pick up.
Will you still be my trash provider: YES
Do I have to participate in the recycling: from what I understand, you have the option to opt out of the program, but you will still be charged for it (which is not what opting out means). I'm not sure about billing, pick up days, etc. Those are questions for someone at the City level or your city council member as they have more information than I do.

Please keep in mind that these questions/answers are for Ames. For the other areas that we pick up, you will also need to check with your city on what they will be doing as I live in Nevada.

Good morning and Happy Friday. Wow, what a night we had. And what a change in temperature, too. I hope you and yours stayed safe last night during the storm and warnings. This spring has been so wonky with all the rain and temp changes. Crazy, crazy. I hope you were able to get out and enjoy some of the week this week and do something fun. This weekend sounds kinda promising as they aren't forecasting rain until later in the night and not during the day. So, hopefully, you will be able to enjoy the weekend as well.
