📦 24-HR DROP OFF & PICKUP
We offer a locker style drop off and pickup system that can be used 24/7. This enables you to drop off your tools any time that is convenient for you, even while we are away at work.

We'll reach out and let you know when your tools are ready and secure them in a locker on a day you'll be by to pick them up.

⏱️ A NOTE ON TURNAROUND TIME
Sharpening is our passion, but not our only job — we're in the shop a few nights a week around our day jobs. During the busy spring and summer season, our average turnaround time is 10–14 days due to the volume of orders ahead of yours. We appreciate your patience and promise it's worth the wait!

Thank you to all those who thought to reach out and check on us today. We are safe, and our house/shop was not in the path of the tornado. Our town and surrounding communities are struggling today, though. We are working cleanup at Daniel's day job and will be a bit delayed in the shop. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

It saddens me to make this post. But I have to.

As we move further into a world where the internet is our shopping mall, With that, comes lots of discount shopping apps. Everything from Walmart and Amazon to Temu and AliExpress.

We can now, with the click of a button, or touch of our phone, have access to products around the world delivered to our doors within days. And in our current economy, often times the products we can now have access to from other parts of the world are a fraction of the cost of what we would normally expect to pay.

However, not all products are created equal.

Recently I’ve been seeing several orders with blades such as these 2. They are a very discounted cost blade coming out of China, And I’ve unfortunately reached the conclusion that I will no longer attempt to sharpen them.

The metal in them is a very low carbon, high alloy steel that is very hard to sharpen. It takes approximately 10 times the amount of grit to grind one of these blades as it does to grind a standard high carbon steel blade. And the small parts in them are very lightweight material that will not hold tension. Each one of these blades I attempt to sharpen can take me up to 5 times longer than a traditional blade, and all the small parts have to be replaced with better quality parts, and even then, only about 50% of the time will they actually cut afterwards. If they do cut after the first sharpening, rarely will they cut after a second sharpening. And most of them from the factory will only last a fraction of the time as a traditional high carbon blade before needing sharpened.

In contrast a traditional high carbon blade such as Andis, Oster, or Wahl blades will cut 100% of the time after sharpening, and some can be sharpened up to 50 times before needing to be replaced.

So as I make this post, I know that Andis and Oster blades can be very expensive to purchase in comparison to some of the Temu Blades. But for groomers, these are the tools of your trade, and as they come through our sharpening shop, I try to treat them as though they are mine, and return them in top working order. But I just can’t do that with some of these new cheaper blades.

That being said, we also try and keep in stock most blades that any groomer might need. So if you find yourself needing a blade on short notice, please reach out. We don’t mark them up higher than our cost on them, we just want to make them available if you need them, because I want to see them come back to be sharpened when they are ready.

At the moment our shop is extremely full. We are taking in multiple orders and tools every day, which is GREAT, but that does mean it may take us a few more days than typical to get your order sharpened and ready to pickup.

It’s funny sometimes how the work comes in groups. Last week Amanda had lots of shears from a few different salons, and several shears from the cosmetology school, while I had several knife orders to fulfill. This week it’s all been clippers and clipper blades coming in. But regardless of what you bring us, we’re grateful for all of our customers.

Don't worry we'll be back!!!

We are out of the shop until the first of July 2024. However, our locker system is fully functioning while we're out.

1.) You can securely drop off your tools in any open locker.
2.) Fill out the Service Order with your name and number.
3.) Secure the locker with the padlock inside.

We have someone checking in orders each day so they'll be ready for our return to the shop on July 1st 😎

HEADS UP!!!

You still have time to get your tools sharpened before we are out of the shop.

We'll be taking a short vacation from June 21st - June 30th.

You'll still be able to use our locker system to drop off orders during this time. We have someone checking in orders each day to make sure your tools stay secure until we are back in the shop.
