Job Description:
Under the direction of a Principal Land Surveyor or Project Manager, staff in this position will assist with the ex*****on of work for our clients involved in the performance of precise land surveying services for land development projects. May perform duties such as research, boundary resolution, post-processing GPS static surveys, and site calibrations for RTK surveys. This position ranges from mid- to upper-level and the candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage and complete projects independently or in small teams.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• Valid Driver’s License
• Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) Certificate or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred Skills:
• Principles and practices of Land Surveying
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience in boundary surveys, topographical surveys, and construction layout
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite software
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Under the direction of a Senior Engineer or Project Manager, staff in this position perform civil engineering work related to the planning, design, and construction of both public infrastructure and private land development projects. Duties include CADD drafting, developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates; and performing related work as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• BSCE from an A.B.E.T Accredited University
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate preferred
Preferred Skills:
• Principles and practices of Civil Engineering as applied to design and construction
• Engineering mathematics
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and equipment
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience in infrastructure projects, roadways, site development design, and/or grading
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite software
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Land Surveying is a plus

In light of the order by Governor Newsom last night to shelter in place, Nevada City Engineering, Inc has committed to doing everything possible to keep all of our projects moving forward.

We are currently implementing procedures for all of our office staff to work from home. We will be monitoring all of our email accounts as normal and will be monitoring our phone calls at least daily.

The health and safety of our clients and employees is our top priority and we are strictly enforcing social distancing and proper hygiene. We are diligently working through this challenging situation and continuing construction and housing projects is essential to recovering from this worldwide crisis.

We all pray that this current crisis will soon be over. In the meantime, we plan to continue to serve our clients to the best of our ability.
