Spread axel aluminum trailer repair involved addressing cracks previously attempted to be fixed by another individual. The process commenced with the removal of old patch panels to examine the underlying structure. Upon closer inspection, cracks were discovered in the frame beneath the patches. Contrary to expectations, no evidence of a previously ground and plated weld was found. Unfortunately, the previous repair had merely plated over the issue, adopting an 'out of sight, out of mind' approach, which is unacceptable for a repair of this magnitude. To rectify the issue, the area was thoroughly cleaned, cracked and damaged sections were ground out, the area was re-welded, and a sufficient patch panel was applied.

Here is another project we undertook today. Cutting the riser head off and fabricating a custom top plate that will soon be equipped with an alpha loc fitting for a charged air system on a pulling tractor. Stay tuned for further updates on this project.
