In 1884, Southern Canvas, a small business specializing in the manufacture of tents, awnings, tarps and other canvas products was founded to serve Nashville and its surrounding areas. Husband and today continues to be owned/operated by the fourth generations of the Husband family! Over the years, Nashville Tent & Awning Co. has expanded to serve not only the Nashville area, but also customers on t

he East Coast, West Coast, as far north as Canada and as far south as the Caribbean. Our dedication to superior craftsmanship and the steadfast work ethic of our workers (many of whom have been with us for 10, 20, 30 and 40+ years and are like family) have kept the company going for over 140 years. Our customers are part of this family, too, and we hope to be serving those same customers and their families for many years to come.

A day filled with meaningful details, family history, and so much love. 🤍

This celebration was especially close to our hearts. It was the wedding of our founder’s great-great-granddaughter and a beautiful reminder of the family legacy at the heart of NTACO, as well as the special moments our tents have been part of through the years.

We supply the reception tent for every wedding at Belle Meade Country Club, but seeing it prepared for this occasion was truly unforgettable. Flowing white draping, soft blue valances, custom lanterns, abundant florals, and a classic checkered dance floor transformed the tent into a warm and welcoming setting for the celebration.

A beautiful beginning for a very special couple. 🥂

A clearspan tent from a different perspective.

Set within a tight footprint, this structure transformed an open lawn into a substantial covered space while keeping the interior completely open and unobstructed.

It’s a great example of what clearspan structures do best: create maximum usable space without the need for interior poles or supports.

The Stitching Belle recently opened its doors in Sylvan Park, creating a new home for Nashville’s needlepoint community. From the oversized florals and stitching details across the exterior to the coral doors and windows, the storefront is full of personality.

For the entrance, a deep navy awning was the perfect finishing touch. The custom Stitching Belle monogram and address tie it back to the shop, making the awning feel like a natural part of the storefront.

It’s a great example of what we love about custom awnings: creating something that works with the space, complements the design, and feels completely at home on the building.
