Pressing the bronze bushing into this stainless part.

To get it started, I set up a 1/2” threaded rod on my weld bench.

Then I moved her over to the Diacro to finish it off. I used shims to set the final depth, though I never took a picture of that.

Haven’t used the old girl in a bit, but she is a great little piece of equipment to have around.

A slip fit mandrel to turn the O.D of a disc.

This method allows me to hit the entire O.D without having to worry about chucking onto a sliver of material and flipping the part and re-running.

I used to just go oversized on material, and turn the face, then turn the O.D as a canned cycle.

Figuring out which is more important here, cost savings on material, or a little more time in labor…..

I may just stick with going oversized and saving the time in labor. I don’t always have something laying around to make a mandrel out of.

Certainly an option that works when needed!

Exactly the style work I designed the enclosure to have removable sides for.

DPM RX5 handling the weight and length of travel no problem. Positioning 39.00” on these. Two setups.

Sometimes specialty work requires the use of specialty tooling.

This super flex, 7-1/2” neck torch from was the ticket.

Paired with a #8 Pyrex cup, to help me see what I was welding, a little over 6.00” into the pipe.

A quick swap of the torch body and I was off to the races. Tricky Business!
