The History of Meyer Equipment
Maynard Meyer opened a Case tractor dealership known as Meyer Farm Service, in 1941. Later, Maynard's brother, Lomer Meyer, joined the business. In the late 50's, Case began to manufacture construction equipment and Meyer Farm Service added the construction line. Maynard's sons David and Denny, took over the business in 1981 and changed the name to Meyer Equipment.
In 1984, Meyer Equipment received the award for "Highest Tractor Sales East of the Mississippi" for Case tractor sales and was awarded the plaque by Bob Hope. After Case purchased the International Harvester tractor line, Meyer Equipment became a CaseIH dealer. The Kubota tractor line was secured in 1985 which allowed lawn mowers to be added to their inventory. Although CaseIH tractors are no longer sold at Meyer Equipment, Case construction equipment is still available. David continues to own and operate the business.
