Turner Fabrication congratulates PAL on this huge fundraising milestone! We were proud to partner with PAL on the Temple Park project and look forward to future partnerships. We encourage everyone in Nac to pitch in to make this new project a reality for our community!
The Parks Advocacy League of Nacogdoches (PAL) is thrilled to announce an update in the progress of the Maroney Park Splash Pad project. PAL has recognized the need for public aquatic features in our parks for years. Following the completion of the Temple Park and Spray-station Project in February 2017, PAL's fundraising efforts shifted focus to the Maroney Park Splash Pad. The splash pad will be 2800 square feet of FUN, accommodating approximately 100 visitors at a time. We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from Nacogdoches citizens as well as Facebook messages from as far away as Many, Louisiana, expressing interest in the splash pad and a willingness to travel to visit it. The Maroney Park Splash Pad will most definitely be a "draw" to our city!
Today, PAL is pleased to announce our gratitude to the Charles and Lois Marie Bright Foundation, for awarding PAL a matching funds grant for the construction of the splash pad. Their dedication to Nacogdoches and projects that benefit all of its citizens is to be applauded! We are also excited to announce that we have received a very generous anonymous donation from a dedicated Nacogdoches resident who has partnered with us to bring this project to fruition. These wonderful gifts, combined with the funds already raised by PAL and a monetary pledge from the City of Nacogdoches (approved by City Council in 2016), have brought us to within $32,000 of our our goal of $300,000!
The Parks Advocacy League is determined to raise the remaining funds before the end of 2017. November 1st marks the kick-off for this final campaign, an online fundraiser through generosity.com. The direct link is: https://igg.me/at/Qugi0PCorP4/emal/14232587
Checks can also be mailed directly to: PAL Nacogdoches, P.O. Box 630854, Nacogdoches, TX 75963 or by visiting our website: www.palnac.com. Donors who pledge $125 may have a Legacy Brick engraved with their name or business, or in honor or in memory of a loved one, which will then be incorporated into the landscaping at the splash pad. Donations of $1000 or more will put donor names on signage at the park, while $15,000 or more will put donor names on equivalent splash pad equipment.
Join this exciting effort that will make possible a spectacular outdoor gathering space, free for all to use and enjoy during our long hot summer months!
Legacy Bricks will make wonderful Christmas gifts for children and grandchildren. Imagine the fun they will have looking for their brick after they've been placed! Order forms for Legacy Bricks may be downloaded and printed from the PAL website.
Nacogdoches, please bring us home! WE'RE ALMOST THERE!!!
