What a crazy week it has been, but what a blessing it is to be so busy! Check out the pictures below of some of the carnage from the week. What started as a 2 cylinder repair order for a steel mill outage turned into 9 major repair jobs with no time to prepare. At least one of the cylinders had a catastrophic failure, and since they are all connected in parallel, the metal pieces in the system had a field day inside the rest of the system. We had just 4 days to pickup, disassemble, repair, test and deliver. We machined new rods (3-1/2” and 110mm) and 14 new steel pistons. We honed the tubes, repaired and machined new glands and cushion-stop assemblies. Since these were originally designed in 1977, most parts are now obsolete, everything was custom made. The seals are made from high-heat resistant Teflon. Fortunately we had all of the materials on the shelf, and were able to pull out all the stops to stay on schedule. It took a tremendous effort from our entire team, and as always, they came through to provide quality repairs. Thank you to Allegheny York for machining the custom metric seals for us with a 16 hour turn around! Thank you to our customers who trust us with their high priority projects, and thank you to our whole team who makes it all possible.
