When I'm asked to bring my bees back this year to the wildfire ridden desert of the Central Valley.

"We" brought in 82% of the honey bees last year to pollinate your trees.

2,000,000 bee colonies just for 1-2 months of pollination in the Central Valley and San Joaquin Valley alone come from the Great Plains and southeast US.

Our bees come back starving, thirsty, infested with California (originally a gift from Asia) Varroa mites, and beetles.

ALL for $190 per established bee colony - for the entire season

My bees on the northern end were checked for winter readiness. Winter feed added. Sugar blocks and pollen patties. Builds brood (like a protein bar - I eat mine because it is delicious and pure calories and protein)

Northern bees not happy in the drizzle and 55 degrees with honey supers removed.

You want them to concentrate solely on building brood to stay warm for winter. I like 50,000 to 80,000 bees for each hive going into first hard freeze.

Commercial outfits use “Darwin method” - those that die weren’t strong enough to be worth the feed cost.
But we are here to save bees, pollinate crops, sell high quality product from healthy, happy, well bred bees.

But this fact is universal; you will lose bees. Oklahoma weather is fickle. The bees don’t
We try to stay at 15-20% loss from winter to spring.
The gain from breeding, swarm catching, and splitting large hives lets us grow to about 550 hives in your area

There is a shortage of fresh, raw honey right now. Too much rain followed by extreme heat. The bees can’t keep up. But they will. They know what they need to do.
Dry massive amounts of honey from 25% water to 15-17%. Or else it goes bad.

We have had good success in a massive spread of 527 colonies of bees over 10 counties. One area doesn’t produce, another will.

All types and grades of in season honey from 2.5 ounces to 5 gallon Atwood’s sealed buckets. Homemade honey candy, lollipops, ice cream (limited locations), chocolate, toffee, honey infused with fresh extract, creamed, and whipped honey… (Like Bubba Gump)

So, have a great holiday weekend from your 50,000,000 friends at Fite Estate Honey Co. and OK Honey Farms, Inc

See you at your local Farmer’s Market to get fresh produce, bread, beef, pork, fish, poultry, eggs, and all your Fourth of July celebration goodies.

As always, eat fresh, stay hydrated, and have some family fun!
