Theka Associates Engineering, Inc. was founded in 1976 as a subsidiary of Newkirk Electric to provide power engineering and consulting services to utility and industrial clients. This year, Theka celebrates its 50th anniversary as a leading independent engineering resource whose design and consulting services include systems planning, design outsourcing, process control, startup and testing, construction management, and control systems/software integration. Theka’s team of professionals are experienced field-tested engineers who go beyond the services of traditional engineering firms. We are accustomed to operating alongside our clients at the jobsites to identify problems and deliver solutions; a unique approach that drives successful projects.

Today is National Skilled Trades Day

Like many businesses and contractors across the nation, Newkirk Electric requires highly skilled electricians and other tradespeople to perform our work in electrical construction, maintenance and repair. Did you know that there continues to be more jobs available in most of the skilled trades than there are workers to fill them? As current workers retire and fewer people are entering the skilled trades as they graduate high school, the shortage is forecast to get much worse.

How can you help? Join us in expressing gratitude to all skilled trade workers. Ask them what they love about their job or why they chose their field. Those in the trade, share information about your trade with someone you know or volunteer to speak at a career fair. Encourage kids and their parents to explore the skilled trades programs that are available, such as Electrical, Plumbing, Masonry, Mechanical, and many others. We at Newkirk Electric are very thankful for all of our skilled trade workers today and every day.
