Our Mission
The EARTHWORKS Group is dedicated to providing integrated solutions for our clients that maximize long term economic success without sacrificing project quality. Background
The EARTHWORKS Group was founded in 1996 to provide planning and engineering services to clients in the Coastal Carolinas. The core skills that formed the basis for our business included environmental planning and e
ngineering, and our first projects involved land planning and civil engineering for new subdivisions, environmental permitting and wetland delineations. EARTHWORKS moved to Murrells Inlet in 1999, added building design services and expanded its environmental and GIS services. In 2003, EARTHWORKS moved to Hwy 707 in Murrells Inlet and developed the full range of services currently offered, including architectural, structural, MEP design, and surveying. In 2007, we constructed a 15,000 SF Green office designed to reflect our core values and accommodate future growth. This office includes use of recycled materials in the building, pervious parking surfaces, energy saving fixtures and equipment, state of the art security and computer network systems, back-up electrical power for emergencies, impact resistant glazing for hurricane survivability, and a conference/seminar area that can accommodate large groups. Our Services
EARTHWORKS is a multidiscipline design firm, offering architectural, structural, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP), civil, environmental, GIS, construction management, and surveying services. This creates a “one stop shop” for our clients and reduces the time spent on coordination of projects. The company is organized into five teams: Civil Land Development, Environmental, Building Design, Survey, and Administration; each managed by a Team Leader. Team Leaders meet every two weeks to discuss overall operations and work out logistical issues for improved coordination on all projects. EARTHWORKS is a recognized leader in sustainable design and environmental planning. We have several projects that have successfully integrated constructed wetlands as a method to control stormwater runoff and improve water quality from these sites. Our multi-discipline approach is driven by our passion for sustainable growth. Our company supports green projects not only through the design of our facility, but also through sponsorship and leadership within the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) SC Chapter and our local Branch in this area. Green building entails the entire development project, not just the building materials themselves. The goal of “green building” is to reduce the impacts from new construction on the environment, and this is accomplished on a case-by-case basis.
