Hello. I’m the ladybug.
Most people recognize me as a helpful garden insect. But few realize my larvae are even more effective at protecting plants.

The problem?
My larvae don’t look anything like adult ladybugs. They’re long, dark, and spiky—so they’re often mistaken for harmful bugs and sprayed with pesticides.

But they’re actually garden allies.

During the larval stage, a single ladybug can eat hundreds of aphids and other soft-bodied pests before becoming an adult.

And after that?
Adult ladybugs continue feeding on aphids throughout their lives, helping keep garden pests under control naturally.

What should you do?
Before spraying your plants, learn to identify ladybug larvae. If you find them in your garden, you already have one of nature’s best forms of pest control at work.
