▪️ What’s your expertise?
I make sure crews and trains are safe during construction in and around tracks.
▪️ Where did you work prior to joining Railroad Consultants?
I have been working in the railroad industry for almost 30 years, was with CSX for 23 years as a locomotive engineer, and had the honor of serving as the union’s local chairman for 6 years. Prior to railroading, I served as a police officer in Williamsburg, KY.
▪️ What drew you to work in the rail industry?
The opportunity presented itself to make the switch from serving in law enforcement to railroading. Growing up on a farm I’ve been around big machinery, so I was more comfortable around engines and enjoy being outside every day.
▪️ What do you enjoy most about working for Railroad Consultants?
It brings me great pride to ensure the safety of both our crews and contractors. RC helps expand my knowledge of railroad construction, mechanics, signaling, and grading. This industry is a brotherhood and can be an unforgiving environment, so you need to keep an eye out for each other. RC has also given me a much better work/life balance.
▪️ What do you do for fun?
I love spending time with family, my lovely wife, and tinkering with my hot rod - something I have more time to do thanks to Railroad Consultants.
