HIRING FOR: Travel Foreman-Commercial Roofer/Hybrid

We need an additional EXPERT COMMERCIAL ROOFER who is capable of training our growing staff, as well as efficiently manage and complete contract-based projects. We’re a structural steel company looking to expand and develop our commercial roofing skill set. This position will be hands on, demanding and consist of a variety of supervisory responsibilities. The Roofing Foreman will be alongside our existing Steel Foremen and report to the President or office management. We’ll expect top-end work quality, forethought/critical thinking capabilities and clear professional communication both electronically and verbally.

DURING THE INTERVIEW:
· The applicant will be provided, then tested on commercial/industrial construction plans.
· In the presence of the President and Steel Foreman, the applicant will be required to explain safe hookup and considerations of a truck-gooseneck trailer setup prior to and during on-road use.
· The applicant may be required to demonstrate safe operation of a forklift, scissor lift and telehandler.

Most travel projects:
· Are large commercial retail customers
· Are performed at night or both day/night (Sunday-Friday)
· Are low slope with TPO-based installs (curbs, walkway pads, insulation/patch work)
· Contain sheet metal tasks (skylight cap-offs, canopy assemblies)
· Consist of structural framing upgrades and miscellaneous metal work

As a Hybrid Foreman, this position will come with the following:
· Training and certification in structural welding
· A project-based double bonus package
· Company issued: Milwaukee Packout tool storage set (5 piece)
· Company issued: Scissor lift with accessories
· Company issued: Welding machine, consumables
· Company issued (During travel work ONLY): 2024 Ford F-350 Super Duty Chassis XL
· Company issued (During travel work ONLY): Enclosed operations trailer with mobile office
· Company issued (During travel work ONLY): Fuel, Per Diem & Expense card

Travel employees must provide the following but not limited to:
· Cordless power tools (ex: grinders, drill, impact) * Corded power tools NOT PERMITTED *
· Basic hand tools (ex: wrenches, sockets, screw drivers, pry bars)
· Basic measuring tools and devices (ex: level, tape measure, small distance laser, square)
· Some basic consumables (ex: burr bits, drill bits) (Company provides discs, blades & specialty items)

When not in travel:
· All employees are reporting to and performing in-shop work or local travel work
· All employees are scheduled to work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, unless otherwise assigned.

LOOKING FOR: LEAD AND TEAM WELDERS, COMMERCIAL ROOFERS & HANDYMEN who are experienced in general commercial construction and willing to travel. Lucas Industrial is working with big box retailers performing remodels and building expansions throughout the Midwest and Southeast. Current projects begin in December and usually extend through September. Between projects, employees must be able to commute to the Murfreesboro, TN main shop until reassignment. All positions are full-time and W-2.

Background checks, drug testing and driving history are requested. We have on-site welding training for those who are in need and a weld test that MUST be completed either before or within 30 days of employment. Weld tests are at employee's expense and a passing result will be reimbursed. Employees must provide all hand tools and hand power tools (must be cordless).

Lucas Industrial provides travel pay, lodging and Federal Rate per-diems based on project locations.

PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND ALL PAY RATES ARE REDUCED UNTIL WELD TEST IS PASSED. Extra consideration is given to roofers and handymen applicants on a case by case basis.

As our projects get bigger and more of the Lucas MWF team get involved with off site construction, we’re continually reminded of the importance of safety. FOR SALE - Welding Rig Truck

This is one of our fleet welding trucks that was recently pulled out of service as we’ve upgraded to all full size. The truck has been regularly serviced and has performed great. It is WORK READY and the only known issue is that the service engine light will periodically come on but doesn’t seem to affect performance. It was recently detailed and was equipped with a gas powered air compressor and a Miller Trailblazer 302. We’ve used it to get into tight areas like car wash runs and forklift alleyways in factories. The truck is also equipped with airbags in the rear to assist with weight and comes with the shown storage. Title is clear and company owned. Bill of Sale will be provided. Will include the Miller Trailblazer 302 for extra $6k. Note: body of welder was powder coated to match truck.
