If you don’t love being stuck at a desk full-time, this role offers the right balance. At Ballpark Engineering, you’ll have some site visits and inspections, while still spending time doing focused engineering work at your computer.

This role is about owning the engineering department: setting up projects, guiding the team, performing final QA, and stamping the work.

You’ll have real authority; and real responsibility.
You think like a builder.
You make decisions with confidence.
You’re not interested in over-designing just to impress plan reviewers.

Requirements:
• Active Utah PE license (multi-state preferred) → SEs welcome to apply
• 4–15 years of building-structure experience
• Comfortable with Revit, AutoCAD, RISA, Bluebeam, and learning new tools

-Wasatch Front Region
-Hybrid role
-Clear path to Director of Engineering

The Big Dig tunnel ceiling collapse wasn’t caused by bad concrete or extreme loads. It came down to a connection detail: epoxy anchors that weren’t suitable for sustained overhead loading.

This is why we obsess over details most people never see. Connections, material substitutions, and installation methods matter just as much as the big structural members.

Before you build, revise, or substitute, make sure the details are reviewed and verified. That’s how you keep projects out of the danger zone.

🎄 Holiday Structural Failure Report:

This gingerbread village had it all...festive flair, big dreams, and plenty of frosting, until an “earthquake” and a runaway vehicle caused some serious structural damage.

Thankfully, these builders made the right call and rebuilt with Ballpark Engineering as their new structural best friend.
