🚧 June is National Safety Month and this weeks topic is Crane & Hoist Safety 🚧

Just because a crane can lift it doesn't mean it should.

Cranes and hoists are designed to move materials, not people. When working at height, always use the proper equipment and follow fall protection requirements.

Key reminders:
✔ Never use a crane to lift personnel unless specific OSHA requirements are met.
✔ Never attach a safety harness to lifting straps or rigging.
✔ Inspect your harness before each use and ensure it fits properly.
✔ Perform a pre-use inspection of aerial lifts.
✔ Always attach your lanyard to the designated anchor point in the lift basket.

The right equipment and the right procedures help everyone go home safe at the end of the day.

Whether it’s equipment, materials, or machinery in our industry, every load matters. Proper loading techniques, communication, and attention to detail help protect drivers, crews, and everyone sharing the road.

A safe load starts long before the wheels start turning.

🚧This week’s focus is Back Safety

🚨The safety coordinator catches you… but is more concerned about your lifting form.

In all seriousness, back injuries are one of the most common workplace injuries – and many happen from improper lifting, twisting, or overreaching during everyday tasks. Always lift with your legs and never with your back. Your legs are your strongest muscles and are designed to lift heavier objects like your back muscles.

The only way to effectively prevent back injury is to follow the correct lifting procedures. Taking a few extra seconds to lift properly, use good posture, and ask for help when needed can make a huge difference long-term.

Protect your back. Work smart. Stay safe.
