Mission Bell is proud to have provided the architectural millwork and wall paneling for the new Barbara and Gerson Bakar Gateway building at UC Berkeley, a future hub for AI-driven discovery and interdisciplinary collaboration. Projects of this scale and complexity highlight our expertise in delivering precision-crafted millwork solutions that enhance both design and function while reinforcing Mission Bell’s reputation for exceptional craftsmanship on landmark projects. After spending more than a year on-site, the building is nearing completion and is expected to open for the Fall semester.

We hosted our annual on-site mobile hearing tests this week to help ensure that our shop personnel and any office employees who chose to participate remain within normal hearing standards. Regularly scheduling safety and wellness evaluations is an important part of maintaining a proactive safety culture and identifying concerns early. Comparing results year over year also helps us monitor trends, make informed adjustments when needed, and continue prioritizing the health and safety of our team.

Last week, we hosted students from Hollister High School's CTE Woodworking program for a facility tour and discussion about career opportunities in the trades. It was a great group from Mr. Krause’s cabinetry class, and they brought thoughtful questions and strong enthusiasm for the industry. National Stand-Down Day puts the focus where it belongs today, on fall prevention. The reality is simple: most falls are preventable with the right planning, equipment, and awareness. Fall protection only works when it’s correctly used every time. Onsite, teams reinforced ladder safety through inspections, proper labeling, load rating verification, and checks of rails, rungs, feet, and locking mechanisms. Our Safety Team continues routine field and shop inspections to ensure every ladder is compliant, reliable, and ready for safe use. It’s the right choice, every time, that gets everyone home.
