reposting the post. I am not sure I understand what I know about posting on social media! I think all of it is a bit over-engineered!

Anyway, just working in the shop today and thought I would let you know what I am up to.

Hey everyone, happy Friday. I hope your week went well.

We talk a lot about the Ace and Buddy Show, suspension design and designing and building late model stock cars, but I want you all to also know that we are open for business, and we need business and cash flow to keep this rolling.

I am available to serve new customers. We do very well at many things including CAD Design, Fabricating, Machining, 3D Printing, Race car fabrication and design, including updates like new front/rear clips, or other repairs, and race car preparation, including sub assemblies like transmissions, rear ends, differentials, hubs etc.

I have been a race mechanic since I was 17 years old, and I am old now haha. 45+ years in the business. I have prepared and set up IndyCars, as well as Sports Cars, both Prototypes and GT, in IMSA, SRO and SCCA Trans-Am. A lot of my Indycar time was spent on oval tracks, racing and testing. While Indycars are obviously much different than a Late Model Stock Car, many principles still apply.

Among other accomplishments over the years, I was blessed to be a part of a team that won the Indy 500 in 1997 as Team Manager for Treadway Racing. (It was actually a team 1-2 finish with Arie Luyendyk (the winner) and Scott Goodyear finishing second) and in 1994 won the SCCA Trans-Am driver's championship as crew chief for Scott Pruett.

All that to say I know my way around race cars and would love to help you with yours, (or whatever project or need you may have,) in whatever way I can.

Just a sample of Episode 4 of the Ace and Buddy Show. We are go through Danny Nowlan's book "The Dynamics of the Race Car. This is chapter 4, exploring damping ratio and damping rates. among many other things. The book is on the left, and the guide that I created using Claude is on the right. The guide will break down equations term by term so that non-engineers, without the required math skills (like me) can get a better understanding of what's going on. It works great, and has helped me in my understanging of Danny's book tremendously.. Paid subscribers get access to the resources. In addition to the videos and the guides, for paid subscribers, we are creating very practical browser-based calculators that will help us with all these equations and will help us bridge the gap to ChassisSim.

BTW the video was converted to 9:16 for Instagram, our video player is full 1920x1080 Horizontal so you will see everything at once. go visit the website (link in bio) and you will see, there is a free intro video you can watch.

what i am attempting to show is that I have an interference between the rotor mount bolts and the lower spindle structure. and also that the lower control arm is further along and it is more or less symmetrical. If the geometries and kinematics work out with this, the same basic control arm would work for the right side, just flip the threaded ball joint housing and the shock and bump stick mounts. But we need to see if the kinematics and clearances will work.

I need to work on the conversion from the OBS screen recording, 1920 horizontal, and 1080 vertical to the Instagram vertical 9:16. the "auto refrain sequence" in Premier Pro is not keeping the focal point where I want it.
