CardioGolf™ Fitness System
Get your Heart Pumping and your Golf Form in shape with the CardioGolf Fitness System…No golf ball required! Professional golfers know the importance of athletic development for golf. As a recreational golfer, you may not have the time to train like an elite athlete, but by simply adding a few swing drills into your daily routine, you can dramatically improve your game.

And you don’t have to go to the golf course or driving range, you can do these exercises at home with the CardioGolf Slope and Shortee Training Club. Master LPGA Professional and NASM Certified Personal Trainer Karen Palacios-Jansen has developed a system of working out to help golfers of all levels improve their golf swings and fitness at the same time. Using the Slope and Shortee Club, Karen takes you through a collection of exercises and drills to improve your game and get a great workout at the same time. A New Way to Practice At-Home- The CardioGolf™ Complete Video Access Subscription includes golf-specific workout routines and swing drills to help golfers of all levels improve their swing technique and get a great workout at the same time and no ball is required. You can do all the workouts in the comfort of your home. Maximize Your Performance-To maximize your golf performance, the golf athlete needs to do a variety of different exercises and workouts to build overall fitness. There are seven physical performance factors that are crucial to every golf-conditioning program: posture, balance, mobility, stability, power, coordination, and endurance. I incorporate all these elements into my CardioGolf Fitness System so that you, not only get a great workout, but also improve your swing technique. The ideal way to train for golf is using a technique called Periodization. Periodization is the process of varying a training program at regular time intervals to bring about optimal gains in physical performance. Periodization is a fancy word for seasonal training. In other words, you need to mix it up and do a variety of exercises during the year. Your workouts should fit the season you are in. Even if you play golf all year round, you still need to vary your workouts so not to plateau. In order to build strength, you need to constantly push yourself by increasing intensity and resistance. But you also need to allow your body periods of rest to recover, so you don’t always want to be doing intense workouts. I design all CardioGolf workouts to maximize golf performance.

Great bunker shots are all about the feel: heavy feet, clubhead up and splash through.

Dig in, hinge the clubhead up and keep your swing moving through the sand.

Bunker cue: DIG IN—CLUBHEAD UP—SPLASH THROUGH.

Here’s a preview of some of the exercises I’ll be sharing to help you lengthen your backswing.

For this exercise, I’m using a simple extension pole. I reach my trail side back and high, then relax my lead side and allow it to stretch down and across. This helps create a fuller shoulder turn and a longer, more natural backswing—without forcing the motion.

Swing cue: Back and High—Down and Across.

CardioGolf® Weekly Performance Plan—Week 36

Your hips play a major role in your golf swing. When they lack mobility or strength, it can become harder to shift your weight, rotate freely and finish your swing—sometimes leading to inconsistent shots and unnecessary stress on your body.

This week’s plan combines golf-specific mobility, strength and swing drills to help you:

* Improve hip mobility and range of motion
* Strengthen your hips and glutes
* Create a smoother weight shift
* Reduce stress on your back and joints
* Move better and swing more freely

Follow the Week 36 plan and give your body—and your golf swing—the attention it deserves!

I’m so excited to start incorporating the HEROBOARD into my CardioGolf routines!

While the HEROBOARD is primarily marketed as a portable Pilates reformer alternative, its resistance-and-glide mechanics can be incredibly effective for golf-specific conditioning.

Here are three exercises I’m doing with the HEROBOARD and the Shortee Club:

1. Split-Stance Swing helps improve balance, pressure shift and rotation toward the target.
2. Lateral Lunge and Reach strengthens the hips, glutes and legs while training an athletic side-to-side weight shift.
3. Golf-Posture Rotational Reach helps improve upper-body rotation while maintaining a strong golf posture.

Together, these exercises can help you improve your mobility, balance, strength and control so you can move better and swing better.

More HEROBOARD and CardioGolf exercises are coming soon, so stay tuned!
