Another challenge came up. This time it was a Harley Davidson twin cam cylinder head repair for Yak’s Motorcycle Maintenance in Palmer Lake. The threads had pulled out of where the rocker support bolts into the head. I started by making an aluminum insert, then machined the head to accept it, loctited it in, and remachined to factory spec. Fun project for a great group of guys at Yak’s.

Was able to work with Big Mission Automotive to repair a E39 BMW 540i cam cap. It was completely stripped out where the stud mounts into it. Machined a threaded insert out of 6061 aluminum and threaded/loc-tited in. After some drying time, I re-machined the threads and oil galley back in. Good as new and a fine old automobile is back in business. Cheers!

Just designed a vise for a friend that is starting a motorcycle/mountain bike suspension maintenance shop. Greg Waldheim at Springwerx is the shop. It was a fun project and he is putting it through it’s paces.

I started out by truing the jaws up and then added the aluminum “v” style soft jaws. The main jaw holds two size shafts vertically and one larger size horizontally. The other side of the vise is designed to be modular with the capability to add inserts as per shop need.

Fun stuff!

A little work done. 2000 KTM300 needed a couple threaded holes fixed in the cylinder, then a resurface of the cylinder and head. Couldn’t help but do a light clean and polish of the combustion chamber.😄

Hello fellow motorsports enthusiasts! I am starting a business to support you all with your designs, modifications and component repairs on primarily motocross/off-road/dual-sport motorcycles.

My background is as a toolmaker and later mechanical engineer with emphasis on design, materials, and fabrication.

I have extensive machining experience and capability with on-site CNC mill, lathe and surface grinder along with full measurement capabilities. I have also done a significant amount of prototyping work with polymer and carbon fiber reinforced polymer materials with on-site equipment.

My passion is and always will be motorcycles. I truly enjoy the challenges of recreating obsolete parts, repairing worn or compromised components, optimizing systems and designs, or creating a new design from scratch.

Let me know how I can help you all.
