Position: Purchasing/Buyer/Safety
Day Shift
Wages: Compensation commensurate with experience. (Range $20-$28/hr.)
Minimum Education or Experience: 2 years’ experience in a purchasing/buying materials of various steels for manufacturing role. Must be able to communicate well with sub-contracted work with suppliers. Experience with Epicor Manufacturing Vantage software a plus, (or any manufacturing software) None of this is mandatory, but beneficial.
Job Classification: Hourly, Non -Exempt
Job Summary: aquires purchase prices and quotes on materials requested to ensure cost efficiency. Orders job related materials. Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments. Complete assigned projects as assigned by Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create and place purchase orders with suppliers as needed
• Receive material properly against supplier packing slip
• Accurately enter all material into jobs
• Enter labor hours daily
• Coordinate shipment of completed jobs per customer’s
Purchase Order
• Work with Project Managers to efficiently quote steel and other job-related material
• Establish and maintain partnerships with suppliers/vendors
• Determine and reconcile all past due PO’s through the “Open Purchase Order Report” several times a week if necessary. If material is one day past due, call the vendor for status and resolve the issue. Be sure the Project Manager knows the status of past due material.
• Return material in a timely manner to ensure proper credit
