Want to help raise money for cancer come and buy one of our shirts, totes or stickers. A portion of all purchases goes towards the cancer fight.

~I have ordered more white, green and purple shirts, cotton poly blend (so super soft, good stretch). If you want a size or color I don't have made up in office, I can make it and call you for pick up.

Join us on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Smith Park in Montevideo for the Cancer Connections Walk starting at 5:00pm.

-Food will be served from 5pm-7pm

-Program will start at 6:00pm

-Silent Auction will end at 7:30pm

Purchase your luminaries prior to the event or at the event.

Many, many words have the same lip shape patterns.

Successful lipreading depends on self advocacy and navigating common obstacles with strategies.

Some call it "speechreading" which includes more hints about what goes on behind the scenes but it's still doesn't adequately cover what we're really doing. A lot of mental work goes into the process as well.

Does lipreading help?

-Without hearing aids, or lipreading, I have a 30% word discrimination.
-With hearing aids, and without lipreading, I have about a 60% word discrimination. (Totally depends on the environment. The world is a noisy place outside the soundproof booth.)
-With hearing aids and lipreading, I scored a 90% word discrimination.

Yes lipreading helps. It all adds up.
