🚧🚨 Hardingville Road (CR 538) in Elk Twp is closed between Whig Lane and Clems Run due to a serious commercial crash involving a utility pole with downed wires. Critical injuries have been reported.

County Hazmat is on scene assisting fire crews with minor spills. The roadway will be closed for a unkown period of time due to the investigation.

See our new ‘Attack 39-1’ Fire Engine and learn about what it takes to volunteer as a firefighter in your community. This week our members conducted ice rescue training on the ice at Lake Garrison to stay prepared for emergencies.

As warmer days are approaching, we want to remind everyone that ice conditions can change quickly and become extremely dangerous.

Introducing Attack 39-1…

In 1976, Aura VFC purchased our Dodge Power Wagon, where it became the first Rescue Engine in Gloucester County. Although it was eventually replaced by newer rescue apparatus, it was never retired. Our bicentennial Dodge has faithfully served for many years as our brush unit.

Today, Friday 2/6/2026—fittingly, as our country celebrates its 250th year (The Semiquincentennial) - we have officially replaced the bicentennial Dodge.
Thanks to the FEMA AFG grant, the talented engineers, and builders at MARCO Equipment, NJEV, and the unwavering support of our Elk Township community, we are proud to introduce Attack 39-1.

This new apparatus is a powerful, all-purpose machine: a 2025 Ford F550 MARCO quick attack. It’s equipped with 41 inch tires, a 300 gallon, 750 GPM pump-and-roll setup, cab operated front ground sweeps (just to name a few)—ready to take on any road or field. This custom-built vehicle, designed to Aura VFC’s specifications, is capable of handling just about anything we throw at it.

As we welcome Attack 39-1, we honor our past, embrace our future, and remain committed—always—to serving our community with strength and pride.

The members of Aura Volunteer Fire Company #1 extend our heartfelt condolences to the Eubanks family on the passing of David B. Eubanks.
Dave dedicated many years of service to Aura Volunteer Fire Company #1 and to his Elk Township community. He served as a firefighter EMT for Aura. His commitment will never be forgotten.
