I've created a new Substack publication called Model Airplane Design & Construction .. you can access and subscribe to it at .. https://airplane.substack.com/

I'm going to be turning some of the things I did on RCU and RCPRO into articles .. Substack lets me mix words with inline photos and videos in more complete works than I could do in the forums and on Facebook or other social media.

The first new project is cloning the T-34 Mentor very squint scale plane by The World Models .. I'll be going through turning the airfoil into DAT coordinates for CompuFoil 3D to drawing the reference outlines for the major sub-components to the creation of parts for laser cutting .. I'll also cover the making of the canopy plug and the cowl mold.

Here's a 2-4 week poll about EF1 R/C planes starting December 23rd, 2020 ... Responses preferred sooner than later.

1) Are you interested in only the EF1 planes that are the most competitive (A) or do you prefer to fly the planes you like the appearance and flying characteristics of (B) or are you indifferent or does it not matter to you (C) ???

2) Do you prefer to build foam core based EF1 wings (A) or built up EF1 wings (B) or are you indifferent or does it not matter to you (C) ???

3) Do you want to only fly and race foam core based EF1 wings, either self-built or pre-built (A), built up EF1 wings (B), or are you indifferent or does it not matter to you (C) ???

4) Are you are a serious 3 pole racer in any class (A), or a sport 2 pole racer in any class or club organization (B) both (C) neither (D) ???

I'm going to evaluate this power system in a Warbird 80 plane after I get everything running reliably and tested. I have a TWM P-51 Mustang Double Trouble that I plan to add a hatch to on top for easy battery access.

I've had the parts for this power system since 2018. Life and health issues got in the way of getting it together.

I've pulled most or all of the parts needed together to work on wiring it up and setting it up.

This was intended to be the power system for a 50cc Pilatus PC-6 Porter ARF.

However, I now think I may have to go to a 100cc system and likely the Turnigy RotoMax 100cc Size Brushless Outrunner Motor 167kv https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-rotomax-100cc-size-brushless-outrunner-motor.html

After I get the 50cc system up and do some work with it, I will have a better idea. Fai Chan of AirBorne Models says it will fly like a trainer with 50cc power.
