Check back to see updates on this horse. Should end up as a real nice driver car with plenty of gallop. The car came to us with the suspension already installed both ends are Heidts units with the rear being their independent rear. The motor is a healthy cleveland with a nitrous express system to help out even more. The car is going with a aviation theme. To be more specific a P-51 Mustang theme.(get it Mustang) As do a lot of projects at the shop this car has morphed from a cool driver/show car to a statement piece. Now where is the statement louder than in the cockpit. A custom designed/fabricated Metalcrafters dash has been installed with some authentic looking warbird gauges and controls. It even has a couple authentic old components to really hammer the theme home. As is typical of any aviation build there are rivets galore. Look for more details on this car as it is full of details and major custom work and it is paying off in how the car is coming together.

Another detail to the P-51 was its side exit exhaust and Bill felt that was an important feature to have on the tribute car and we agreed. You can see there is a lot of work to get the exhaust on the car, make it look like it is supposed to be there and make it functional. Keep in mind this set up has a cut off valve so it can run through the full exhaust or when he wants to open it up he can pull a lever and have zoomie style open exhaust.

So here is a Rad Rod that came to us for some Metalcrafters touches. First on the list was to remove the small block Chevy and make room for the larger 392 Hemi. Behind the Hemi we are installing a Turbo 350, this is mainly because of space and the 350 being similar in size to the 4 speed that was already in the car. With the help of Hot Heads we were able to bolt up the refurbished 6-71. We are also looking into a ride tech air ride suspension, new fuel tank and system amongst other things.

This is a 1940 Chevy truck that is a real nice truck and has a good story as it has been in the owners family since it was new. While here at the shop it will be getting upgrades all designed to enhance its ability to be driven and enjoyed. The goal is to retain as much of the old truck as possible but make it a truck that can be driven. These old trucks were made to work not drive but we are going to give him the best of both. We are going to stay with the inline 6 but just a newer version that has better oiling and cooling characteristics, behind that will be a newer 5 speed manual trans to help enhance highway speed driving. A mustang II front suspension kit, 9 inch ford rear end, with a highway gear. New wiring, new bed floor, new wheels and tires with radial tires
