First burn. Decided to go with a boild linseed oil finish - keep the rustic patena. I did this on a cooker previously and its held up well. Plus it should turn darker as its used.

The little stove I've made will be going into this grain bin for a "she-shed". On Sunday, I worked on getting the ladder adjusted and fit. Then took the fill cap off, cut out the center, and made a clear plexiglass cover to rivet to the cap. Im hoping to get it moved to by the shop soon for doing some final fitting and interior work.

Finishd the fab, now for a finish...

Finished welding my little pot belly stove! Added an ash cleanout in the very bottom, legs and a base, and an inlet cover. It doesn't sound like much but it was a good 3 hours of putzing in the shop.

Now the question is, do I oil it and leave it rustic or paint it with a caliper high temp paint?

Also started to make a cute little pot-belly wood stove. It has a 1/4" thick top plate for cooking or a teapot. The door has regular hinges so it can come off but has a latch that secures the door shut. The inlet will have a dampened but I ran out of weld wire. The chimney is short but I figure I can make a longer pipe to get it out of the roof.

What am I making this for you may ask? Well, I've decided to make a SHE SHED from the other grain bin I have! The she shed will have a few windows, a door, a curved desk to fit the wall, this potbelly stove, shiplap flooring, a could wood beams to hang things from, hooks for garland or white lights (wired for lights and plugs), a skylight and some vents in the roof. On the outside I'm planning some metal work like "vines", butterflies, dragonflies, flowers and different garden things.
